Returns, Exchanges & Cancellations Policy

Overview

We are an independent record store selling both new and preowned music across vinyl, CD, cassette, books, and more. Products are clearly identified on each product page using blue (NEW) and red (PREOWNED) badges. For preowned items, please refer to our Grading Guide on each product page under "Condition Info".

Returns for Faulty Items

We only accept returns for items that are faulty or not as described. Claims must be made within 30 days of the purchase date.

To initiate a return, please email us at info@beatdisc.com.au with details of the issue. If the item is confirmed as faulty, you may be offered a replacement (subject to stock availability), a refund, or store credit.

Assessing Faults

  • Returned records will be tested on our in-store turntable.
  • If we cannot reproduce the fault, the item will be returned to you. Return shipping costs will be your responsibility unless the item is confirmed to be faulty or damaged.
  • Please try your record on more than one player before contacting us. We recommend adjustable players with settings for tonearm weight, anti-skate, and height.
  • We do not accept returns for playback issues on non-adjustable players (e.g. Crosley, briefcase-style players, etc.).

Common Vinyl Characteristics

  • Minor warps and surface marks are common and often do not affect playback.
  • Edge chips, label bubbles, and other cosmetic issues that do not affect playability are not grounds for return or refund.
  • Each coloured vinyl pressing is unique — small variations in pigment or colour from manufacturer images are not considered faults.

Pre-Orders

Returns or cancellations for pre-order items must follow the same conditions listed above. For further detail, please refer to our Pre-order Policy.

Damaged Items in Transit

If your item arrives damaged, please email us as soon as possible with photos of the item and packaging. If approved, we will provide a return shipping label and offer a replacement (if available) or refund.

Exchanges

We offer exchanges within 30 days of purchase for items that are in unused, perfect condition, accompanied by a receipt or proof of purchase. For vinyl, the seal must be intact. We do not exchange opened vinyl.

Change of Mind

We do not offer refunds for change of mind. However, exchanges may be possible under the conditions outlined above.

Markdown Items

Only regular-priced items are eligible for exchange. Markdown & sale items are final sale and cannot be exchanged or returned.

You are responsible for the return shipping cost unless the item is confirmed as faulty or damaged in transit. If a refund is issued, the cost of return shipping (if applicable) may be deducted from your refund.

Refund Process

Once your return is received and inspected, we will email you confirmation of approval or rejection. If approved, your refund will be processed to your original method of payment.
