New $25,000 Music Grant for Western Sydney Artists

Date Posted:1 September 2025

The Generations Western Sydney Music Fellowship is a program designed to support early-career contemporary musicians and bands in Western Sydney. It is a collaborative effort between Sound NSW, Powerhouse Museum, and Blacktown Arts. The fellowship provides two successful applicants with a $25,000 grant for a six-month period to help them develop their careers in the NSW music industry.

The program's core purpose is to connect emerging artists with established professionals, fostering a transfer of knowledge and experience. In addition to financial support, the fellows will receive mentorship, project development opportunities, and access to studio space for writing, rehearsal, and recording. The initiative also focuses on building practical industry connections, giving musicians the entrepreneurial skills and relationships they need to succeed with key figures like producers, record labels, and agents.
