The Beatdisc Store

Beatdisc was opened in 1995 by Victor W. Aird (famous for the “VWA specials”). It was a small, dark but friendly second hand music store that was well renowned in Sydney’s West for its great selection of alternative music, its unique collection of music photos and the even more unique collection of people who worked there.

In 1999 a young fellow by the name of Pete Curnovic began working at Beatdisc after many years of being a loyal customer. With time Beatdisc saw some dramatic changes including but not limited to; renovations, hosting in-store shows, becoming a moshtix outlet, taking customer orders, selling on eBay and providing new release stock for our sometimes impatient but always lovely customers!

In 2007 Victor made the decision that it was time to put an end to his record store owning days, luckily Pete was feeling just crazy enough to fill Victor’s well-worn shoes and buy the business to keep independent music alive in Parramatta.

So on the 1st March 2008 Pete became the official owner of Beatdisc Records. Changes made since the new ownership have included a change of name to include “Records” on the end of the existing Beatdisc, (another) store renovation, a new logo and new look, another Pete, a computer database including receipts and individual stock labels (that’s right, no more yellow dot stickers and post-it notes!), a great new website, a complete online catalogue, even more customer orders, even more eBay listings and most importantly, reduced prices on all stock!

Beatdisc Records is still known for the great service that was provided back in 1995… and it just keeps getting better as time goes on!
